How to Reach

By Air: Shillong Airport (Umroi) is the nearest, but has limited flights. Guwahati Airport (Assam) is more commonly used, with good connectivity. From Guwahati, Meghalaya is a 3-hour drive.
By Road: Meghalaya is best accessed by road from Assam. Taxis and shared cabs operate from Guwahati to Shillong and beyond.
By Train: The nearest railhead is Guwahati. From there, drive or take a taxi into Meghalaya.

Best Time to Visit

Winter (November–February): Cool and ideal for travel; temperatures range from 4°C to 15°C in the hills.
Summer (March–June): Pleasant weather, ideal for outdoor exploration and waterfalls.
Monsoon (July–September): Extremely rainy, but perfect for witnessing Meghalaya’s famed waterfalls in full glory.
