  • By Train: New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the closest major railway station. From NJP, you can travel by road or take the iconic toy train to Darjeeling.
  • By Road: Darjeeling is well connected by road from Siliguri, Kalimpong, and Gangtok. The journey offers scenic views and charming mountain villages along the way.

 

Best Time to Visit

  • Winter (November–February): Crisp and cool with occasional snowfall in higher altitudes. Temperatures range from 2°C to 9°C. Great for honeymooners and those who love the winter chill.
  • Summer (April–June): Pleasant and ideal for sightseeing, with temperatures between 13°C and 19°C. Perfect for visiting tea estates and trekking.
  • Monsoon (July–September): Lush greenery and misty landscapes dominate, though heavy rainfall can affect travel. The town is quieter during this time—ideal for a peaceful retreat.
