Arunachal Pradesh: The Unexplored Jewel of the Northeast

Arunachal Pradesh, the "Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains", offers unexplored beauty and cultural richness. The state is home to ancient tribal traditions, verdant valleys, glacial rivers, and iconic landmarks like Tawang Monastery, Sela Pass, and Ziro Valley. With over 26 major tribes and unique landscapes ranging from subtropical to alpine, Arunachal offers an offbeat experience like no other.

How to Reach

  • By Air: The nearest airport is in Tezpur or Guwahati (Assam). From there, road travel is needed. A new airport at Hollongi (near Itanagar) also connects some cities.

  • By Train: Harmuti (Assam) and Naharlagun are the nearest railway stations, connected by rail to Guwahati.

Best Time to Visit

  • Spring & Autumn (March–May, September–November): Best for travel and sightseeing; temperatures are mild, ranging from 10°C to 22°C.
  • Winter (December–February): Cold, especially in Tawang and Ziro; snowfall adds charm to higher altitudes.
